This is a layout done for catering in a postcard design. I really like the way it is set up. The blue background represents the sky, and the words are in the clouds or the signs dragged by the plane. It really makes your eyes flow through the page. It was a nice way to advertise their company.
This is a layout done for a billboard. I think that since the children stick out of the traditional shape of the billboard, it gets the attention it is looking for. The children look like they are flying which suits the terms they used "magical kids". It gives it the 3-D effect and makes the viewer look a little longer at it to see what is being advertised.
This is another layout for billboards. I love how they incorporated the two advertisements together. The signs use complementary colors orange and blue to help them even further make them related. They took a piece of pizza and made it look like the news anchor is holding and eating it. It really leads your eyes from one side to another.
This is an example of a layout for a poster. The title and the name have the biggest font so they are most important. All the information that is meant to be told to the viewers is shown in different sections of the poster. The words are all legible and graphics are used in an effective way. The colors are mostly warm so it gives off an inviting feel so people become interested in going.
This poster seems to take an environmental approach. It is symmetrically balanced. The way the trees are placed make them look like lungs. This relates to the message "Breath" since trees give off oxygen for humans to use. The underlying concept might be to preserve the environment. This poster is done in black and white.
The message that the poster is trying to get across is to conserve rain water. It is clearly stated on the poster in blue colored font. It is advertising world environment day. The message is visually described by using an upside down umbrella to act as a bowl to save any water when it rains. The handle of the umbrella is turned into a faucet of some kind which also relates to saving water. In the background there are faint clouds maybe symbolizing rain clouds. The text nicely fit the image in respect of the simple curves.
The background color and the smoke coming from the pipe give off an optical illusion of a silhouette of a man. The man is probably supposed to be Sherlock Holmes himself. A Game of Shadows is a phrase used that could be linked to the man because he is sort of a shadow. The use of positive and negative space really works for this piece. My eyes start from the top right corner and lead into the words at the bottom. The target audience would be anyone wanting to see the movie and is familiar with the stories of Sherlock Holmes. It probably would not be a very young audience. The text has a serif font. The name is the biggest font and the details are smaller so people will have to get a better look at it.
